What’s Happening at Taylor – March 2025

As spring planting approaches, the team at Taylor Seed Farms is transitioning from winter tasks to preparing for the 2025 growing season. With planting preparations in full swing, we are actively treating soybeans to ensure they’re ready for optimal performance. At Taylor, we offer a range of treatment combinations to provide your soybeans with the protection they need to maximize yield potential.
Our baseline treatment, Taylor Select Gold (TSG), features the industry-leading insecticide Cruiser® and four key fungicides that protect your seed from various soil-borne diseases. These fungicides utilize different modes of action to help achieve a strong stand in the field.
Saltro® is our go-to solution for suppressing SDS and nematodes. After several years of testing, we’ve seen noticeable yield improvements in areas that don’t have SDS, demonstrating its effectiveness.
Rizoliq Top® is the inoculant we trust. Its higher bacterial concentration and exclusive formulation result in stronger, more resilient bacteria, resistant to stressful soil conditions and chemical interactions.
At Taylor, we believe TSG is one of the most robust soybean treatments available on the market. When paired with Saltro or Rizoliq Top, you’ll be setting yourself up for exceptional yields that will be hard to beat.
To start the treatment process, the treater is programmed with a variety and treatment combinations.
After that is accomplished, it is kicked on and multiple forklifts are running to keep providing the treater with a “naked” soybean, or a soybean that has not been treated yet.
After the soybean has made its way through the treater, it is then deposited into a bulk bin, where it is weighed to be packaged into either a pro-box, mini-bulk bag or a one-unit paper bag.
Lastly, it is tagged with its variety number and treatment option, stacked and readied to be shipped to its grower’s location. Six to seven thousand units a day can be treated and packaged a day with this method with the help of four to six people.
